Privacy Policy
The short version
Umbragerie is a puzzle game about shadows. You may choose a nickname that stays on your device; it does not ask for your email or an account, and there is nothing to sign up for.
This build of Umbragerie (version 1.1.0) includes optional rewarded video ads, and has no in-app purchases, analytics and cloud save. It can use vibration feedback and the device share sheet.
Your game progress is saved on your own device and nowhere else.
What we collect about you
Umbragerie does not send your nickname, game progress, settings, name, email address, phone number, date of birth, contacts, photos, microphone data or camera data to Binary Data Technology. We run no game-account or cloud-save server.
If you choose to request an optional rewarded ad, the embedded Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share the advertising identifier, IP-derived approximate location, app interactions and diagnostic information described below. No ad request is made until the consent flow has been handled where required.
The app asks for no runtime permissions on Android or iOS.
What is stored on your device
The game saves a small amount of information in your device's local storage, under names beginning with "umbragerie." It stays on the device and is never sent anywhere:
Your optional nickname; levels completed and stars earned; which shadow creatures you have rescued; your sound, music, haptics and accessibility settings.
You can erase all of it at any time using Settings, then Reset Progress. Deleting the app also removes it.
Rewarded video ads (Google AdMob)
This build offers optional rewarded video through Google AdMob. Rewarded video is never forced and never interstitial: no ad is requested or shown unless you tap a clearly labelled option offering a reward in exchange for watching one.
When you choose to watch, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information for its own advertising, measurement and fraud-prevention purposes. Google states this includes an advertising identifier such as the Android advertising ID or Apple identifier for advertisers, your IP address (which can be used to estimate approximate location), app interactions such as taps and video views, and device diagnostic information.
Binary Data Technology does not receive a player-level copy of this SDK data. Google processes it under its applicable terms, retention rules and privacy controls. Google partner-sites policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Because an ad network uses this data for its own purposes, both Google Play and Apple classify it as data being SHARED rather than merely collected, and our store declarations say so.
In regions that require it, Google's User Messaging Platform consent form is shown before the first ad request, and the SDK applies the choices you make there. You can reopen that form and change or withdraw your choice at any time from Settings, then Privacy Options. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings: on Android under Settings, Privacy, Ads; on iOS under Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.
Vibration and haptics
The app may briefly use your device's vibration motor to confirm that a shadow has locked into place. This is a local hardware effect: it reads nothing and records nothing. You can switch it off in Settings, then Haptics.
Sharing from the app
If you tap Share, the app hands a short line of text to your operating system's own share sheet. You then choose where it goes, or cancel. The app itself transmits nothing and never learns what you chose.
Once you hand text to another app, that app's privacy policy applies to it, not ours.
Children's privacy
Umbragerie is intended for players aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. It has no chat, messaging, online profiles or user-generated content shared by the app. A nickname, if entered, remains only on that device.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Optional rewarded features are presented as clear choices, and advertising consent and device-level controls apply where required. If you believe a child has provided information through a third-party service used by the app, contact us so we can help direct the request appropriately.
If you are a parent or guardian and you have a question about this app, please contact us using the address at the end of this policy.
Your privacy rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws)
Binary Data Technology does not maintain player accounts or a player database. For advertising data handled through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, you can withdraw or change consent from Settings, then Privacy Options, reset or delete the advertising identifier in device settings, and use Google's published privacy request procedures. You may also contact us for assistance. We do not sell personal information for money.
The one exception is the game progress on your own device, which is entirely under your control and is removed by Settings, then Reset Progress, or by deleting the app.
You are welcome to contact us anyway at binarydatatechnology151@gmail.com with any privacy question, and we will answer.
Security
Your game progress never leaves your device. Where the app talks to Google or Apple for the features described above, that traffic uses their own secured connections, and we never receive a copy.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated in the same release and the date at the top changes. The current version is always readable inside the app under Settings, then Privacy Policy.
Continuing to play after an update means you accept the updated policy.
